How to setup “MTS MBlaze USB Modem” in ubuntu

MTS MBlaze USB Modem also can be used without installing driver software since latest version of Ubuntu (or any other GNU/Linux distro) support this modem by default. It should be at least 10.04 or greater version of Ubuntu.

• Connect the modem with the PC. The system will detect the device automatically.
• Look out for the notification saying Device recognized USB Modem, ONDA Communication S.p.A., then click on the icon of Network Connections in system tray.
• You will find an option New Mobile Broadband (CDMA) Connection, click on it.
• A new window will open to setup a mobile broadband connection. Click Forward button
• Select India as country, then Click Forward button,
• Select MTS MBlaze from the providers’ list, Click Forward button,
• And then click Apply,
• Now Disconnect the connection which is trying to connect automatically. Because it is not going work until we provide username and password.
• Open Edit Connections->Mobile Broadband (Tab)->Select MTS MBlaze Connection and click on Edit.
• Under Mobile Broadband,

type : #777 as a number, internet@internet.mtsindia.in as a username and MTS as a password.

How to setup “MTS MBlaze USB Modem” in ubuntu

• Check Available to all users and Connect automatically if you want.
• Save it and close Network Connections.
• Now take off the modem from the port and reconnect it.
• After the modem get recognised by the system, try to connect Internet.
• If everything goes right, you will see that your Internet connection will get connected.

Follow the steps to configure the ADSL NETGEAR N150 Wireless Modem settings

Step: 1 

Type http://routerlogin.net/ in the address bar of your browser.

Step: 2 

Enter the user id as admin and password as admin

Step: 3 

After successful login click on Setup --> Basic Settings

Step: 4 

Select Yes in Does Your Internet Connection Require a Login, Select the Encapsulation as PPPoE (PPP over Ethernet) --> Enter Login value (user id issued by BSNL/Other Service Provider) --> Enter Password (password issued by BSNL/Other Service Provider) --> Service Name BSNL --> Click on apply

Step: 5
click on Setup -->ADSL Settings
Select  Multiplexing Method  LLC Based --> VPI 0 --> VCI 35 --> DSL Mode Auto(Multi Mode) --> Click on apply and save the router/modem.

Step: 6

If a customer requires NETGEAR Modem Wireless Configuration follow the steps from 1 to 5 as same and after completion of 5 steps click on Setup --> Wireless Settings 

Wireless Network -->Name (SSID) BSNL (or) Other Service Provider --> Region Asia -->Channel Auto --> Mode g & b

Wireless Access Point -->Select Enable Wireless Access Point -->Allow Broadcast of Name(SSID)

Security Options --> Select WPA-PSK (Wi-Fi Protected Access Pre-Shared Key) 

WPA-PSK Security Encryption -->Enter Network Key(8~63 Characters) as your choice  

Click on apply
